What are your Gifts?

What are your gifts? Why aren’t you sharing them with the world?

When God gives us a particular gift, He wants us to share it with the world to glorify Him.

A few months back when I felt lead to start publicly coaching runners, and not just coaching close family and friends, I was very anxious and nervous about putting myself out there.

My biggest fear was and still is, failure and judgment.

All the “What If’s” started circling around in my head. Little by little I would continue to take a step forward and push out the “What If’s,” and try to discern God’s voice and direction.

However, what if I don’t use all that God has given me to glorify Him? When I get to Heaven, I want to know I used every ounce of the gifts God has given me to share Him with others.

In the Bible, Jesus tells a parable in Matthew 25, about three servants whose master gives them bags of gold. Two of the servants multiplied the gold while one hid his bag because of fear.

“Then the man who had received one bag of gold came. ‘Master,’ he said, ‘I knew that you are a hard man, harvesting where you have not sown and gathered where you have not scattered seed. So I was afraid and went out and hid your gold in the ground. See, here is what belongs to you.”

“His master replied, ‘You wicked, lazy servant! So you knew that I harvest where I have not sown and gather where I have not scattered seed?” – Matthew 25:24-26

This parable made me question, “am I the fearful servant?”

I don’t want to hide what God has given me in place of fear of what others think or of failure. I want to be like the other two servants and help multiply and lead others to God or a stronger relationship with Him, through the gift of running and coaching.

At the end of my life, I want to hear God say, “Well done, good and faithful servant.” Matthew 25:21

My friend, Baylor Barbee, told me,

“The only failure is to have knowledge that could help people and not share it. – Baylor Barbee”

And he was right.

I don’t want to let fear stop me from sharing this gift that God has given me. He gave this to me to share with the world, whether it impacts one or 1,000.

So, my friend, what gift has God given you that you need to share with the world?
