Hi, I am Coach Elizabeth!
Wow… I kind of like that title! Coach Elizabeth…
Who would have thought this is what God had planned for me, Not I!
But you see, God’s plans for us are beyond what we can comprehend at the time. If God would have told me a decade ago, you will fall in love with running and want to use it to spread Jesus to others, I would have thought He was crazy… about the running part!
I always grew up knowing about Jesus, but I did not understand what it meant to have a relationship with Jesus until I was 25 years old and was encompassed by the Holy Spirit on December 16, 2011.
In fact, I was driving to work listening to the song Manifesto by City Harmonics when I felt the Holy Spirit for the first time. I bawled like a baby and at that instant, my life changed.
I knew God existed all my life and believed in Him, but when you develop the heart connection and relationship with Jesus, everything changes! In high school, I would share my beliefs with others and at one point I even had a passion for ministry and studied Youth Ministry, but once I started college, I switched to journalism.
I did not start running until five years after graduating from college. I had a friend ask me to do a fun run with her and that was the first time I had ever trained to run a mile solid. In fact, I ran that 5k thinking it felt like a marathon and even told my friend I cannot imagine running further.
A few years after, I felt like God was leading me to do something with fitness, but I could not put my finger on it. I thought maybe it was to teach workout classes at a gym or become a personal trainer.
I was a runner at the time but had not thought about God wanting to use running nor did I ever think he would use it to spread Jesus to others.
Then one day, it dawned on me to become a Run Coach and incorporate faith into my training. Things started to line up, one by one, and well now, here I am!
I am an RRCA Certified Run Coach helping athletes get spiritually fit and physically fit!
And truthfully, I feel like I am fulling what God has called me to do, whether I train 1 athlete or 101. To me, this is all about glorifying Him in what I do.
– What seeds has God planted throughout your life that lead you to where you’re at now?
– Is there anything you have said you’d never do and God has shown you otherwise?
