Faith Running

Running for YOU

Sweat was dripping off my face while my Saucony shoes took turns pounding the pavement at an 8:00 minute per mile pace. I prayed these words to God while listening to the rhythm of my shoes,

“I am running for YOU, I want my Life to Glorify YOU.”

Six years ago, I didn’t run for pleasure, and now what was I doing? I grew up thinking you only discuss God and spend time with Him in church settings, who knew a run could turn into a testimony for Jesus?

Our purpose on earth is to spread God’s word. God doesn’t care how we do it, just IF we do it. I was saved on December 16, 2011, but October 2017 was the first time I had the epiphany that this was my life goal. Which occurred during my run.

Running is my haven.

  • It’s time I have alone with God.
  • It’s time I can focus on prayer or worship through music, looking at nature, or being lost in my thoughts with Him.

Then there are those runs that I am praying for strength to finish the last mile or make it up a steep incline that feels like Mt. Everest.

Purpose-

I have started running more for a purpose, such as spreading God’s word through my runs with others. Sometimes those runs may look like walks. One of my closest friends will call and ask me for a “Walkie Talkie,” which means, “I need a God centered conversation.”

A year ago, I discovered what it meant to be the hands and feet of Jesus. I joined Ainsley’s Angels which Running for YOUhas given running a more significant meaning. To be able to use your legs for someone else’s benefit changes the dynamic of running.

I love to run for competitiveness, but now I also train to help others cross the finish line that can’t on their own. This exemplifies what 1 Corinthians 12:27 says, “We are one body of Christ.”

God put a passion in my heart to glorify Him through running. This is why I use the word “You” in Endurance4You.

I am Enduring Life for Him! Everyone’s You can be different, but mine is specifically for God.

Who would have thought a decade ago, that this non-runner mama, would now be a runner for God?

What is your goal for Christ?
For Christ to be at the center of everything I do, decisions I make, and choices I take.

I love writing and drawing, so sharing those thing that are crafted with the word of God in mind could hopefully help bring others closer to a faith fueled life ??

This is beautiful! Thank you for sharing! Writing and drawing are both talents that God can use through you to show others His light! He gave you the desires and passions of your heart.
